Lead a community-wide effort to install 38, six-foot poetry panels throughout Maplewood with poems by Black authors, including both internationally known as well as local poets. More info here.

Host for Maplewood-based, TEDx event. Theme: NORMAL. As Host, I wrote the throughline for 10 presenters, provided program oversight, and entertained the audience as the emcee of the sold-out event.

I lead the Maplewood Arts Council to help lower the barriers to creating art in our community. Working with a small group of township-appointed volunteers, I spearhead community public art projects, organize and execute educational forums for local artists, fundraise through individuals and businesses, and work with our elected officials to ensure that Maplewood thrives as a place to live as an artist, and to participate as an audience.

Managed all communications for launch of The New Jersey Arts Education Partnership, a non-profit, state-wide advocacy group, including public relations campaigns, media strategies, fundraising efforts, promotions, and branding.

For three years, I worked to support and promote the artists and arts organizations in Maplewood, New Jersey, I managed the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts; I worked as an active support to dozens of local arts groups; I acted as liaison between Maplewood's elected body, local arts organizations, and other local institutions; I planned and executed community-wide arts events; and I helped establish the Maplewood Arts Council.
